Pine Rivers Art Gallery - The Window Gallery
I have been a part of The Window Gallery space at Pine Rivers Art Gallery in 2017 with collaborator Amber Manteufel of Your Inner Artist, our exhibition was titled Parallel Impression. Unlike some gallery spaces you might encounter, this particular space gives artists an opportunity to experiment with style and presentation for one month and it's FREE...
The gallery exhibition team are responsible for the installation, but do allow you to have creative input into the way your exhibition is designed. At the time we had Karl de Waal and can I say he is a pleasure to work with, he has a wealth of experience and knowledge in the arts industry, can give excellent advice that you definitely want to hang onto and you know what? - he is a people person which makes the whole venture easy and stress-free. The Window Gallery can be seen from outside the main gallery, so you don't need to worry about opening hours for visitors to see your show. I would only recommend up to two artists per exhibition to get the most out of the space.
The only con would be the foot traffic or lack there of. One requirement from the gallery is that you develop your own media release and send this to local newspapers and the like to get the word out there. You will need to promote your show to get it seen as there won't be a scheduled opening for this space! So if you can handle being proactive and even organising your own "unofficial opening" by inviting a handle of people to view the work, give a little talk about why you do what you do and then snacking on some lunch in the local area with your group - then go for it! I personally had a very positive experience by exhibiting in this space.
